YOU SAID IT
HERE’S WHAT’S ON YOUR MIND
I feel for the people in Texas who are impacted by the wildfire.
But since the governor and legislators of that state are refusing to comply with Supreme Court rulings and apparently have sufficient funds to fund their own immigration efforts (although that is the purview of the federal government), I oppose sending any federal funds to those impacted by the fire.
Save the Orchard Mesa Community Center Pool!
Many of us who do not use the Orchard Mesa Pool or live anywhere near Orchard Mesa still oppose any plan to close it, and not only because it is an asset to the community. It is also concerning that those who depend on the pool have been misled about the matter. The stories of Whitman and Emerson parks echo the way the pool issue was handled. City residents keep hoping for a City Council that we can trust, but once again we have been disappointed.
I’m sure the Orchard Mesa Pool would get a lot more use by a spectrum of age groups than a dangerously accessible skate park! Come on City Council!
It’s going to take an exorbitant amount of money to demolish the Orchard Mesa pool. Why not take that money and put it toward fixing the pool?! It’s a neighborhood/ community pool, let Orchard Mesa dwellers keep that sense of community! Sometimes we ‘’OMites’’ feel like we’re the stepchild in the Grand Junction family.
Please save the pool.
Folk history would have taken an abrupt turn had Johnny Appleseed ventured out west to Rifle.
Given the current shenanigans, the city’s welcoming sign would read: “ Rifle: Home to a Few Bad Apples” Did anyone consider using the vacant gym at East Middle School as the temporary day shelter for the homeless? It’s located right next door to Center for Independence & Grand Valley Peace & Justice. The money saved would have been more than enough to save the OM Pool and have some left over to help Meals on Wheels.
Lauren Boebert’s self-righteous hypocrisy continues, as she claims the “Biden Crime Family” is the most corrupt in history. She might want to look at her former favorite president and her own family situation before she starts throwing stones.
Tramps, bums, hobos, vagrants, homeless, unhoused, unsheltered. Same problem, different words. Please don’t feed the bears.
Old question: If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound? New question: If an event is factually reported by only one news outlet and no others, does that mean it never occurred?
While I applaud Rep. Taggart’s support of House Bill 1097 to waive certain professional licensing requirements for military families moving to Colorado, I wonder why those requirements cannot be waived for any person who wants to relocate and work Colorado. Are spouses of military members smarter or more trustworthy than the rest of us?
Best wishes to Hi Five Team in the robotics competition in Salt Lake. Way to go! You all rock!
I’m sure all the trees in Emerson Park are going to appreciate all the cement that will be dumped on top of their roots to build a skating park.
Redlands residents, we lost our hardware store because we bought our screws there and our pumps at the big box stores. Let’s not do the same with our new dollar store. They have a good selection of groceries and other merchandise at good prices.
A jury unanimously found Trump guilty of defamation and sexual abuse. With a typical lack of self-control, he continued to defame the victim, getting himself in deeper legal trouble. Is that enough to keep him quiet? Of course not. We need a level-headed leader, not a hot-headed narcissist who rules by insults. Besides, Nikki Haley has a much better chance of beating Biden. It’s time, America, to send a woman to the White House.
For the genius defining “people” as capable of thought and therefore decision-making, you have to rule out the following as people: those in comas, individuals with advanced Alzheimer’s, patients undergoing general anesthesia and most liberals.
Call me quaint, but could a private company process and deliver our mail locally and profitably and keep one less semi-truck off I-70?
Following the death of Russian dissident Navalny, President Biden has imposed sanctions on Russia. There is a long list of those who have met their death after criticizing Putin. However Trump will not criticize Putin, foolishly thinking that if they are buddies, Putin will cooperate with the United States. Trump is truly a coward who is afraid to confront Putin who is mass murderer.
The Christian nationalism
movement clearly poses the biggest existential threat to the fragile governmental institutions of the United States.
Major food company prices are still 19% above prepandemic and packages have shrunk for the same or more price increases.
These companies have gouged us with pandemic the excuse/scapegoat. Talk about corporate greed!
Food companies wrote the book on squeezing every cent possible out of the American consumers.
There are many choices for food.
Consider the many other sources available.
