YOU SAID IT
HERE’S WHAT’S ON YOUR MIND
I’m one of the ones who has used the “You Said It” to angrily vent, but please know I very much appreciate the Sentinel providing this forum and for the editorial board’s willingness to publish a variety of opinions.
Is anybody else tired of seeing cars with out-of-state or rental license plates using our roads as a drag strip? Raise your hand if you’re in favor of doubling or tripling the speeding fines for these vehicles. Or better yet, impound the cars and let them take the bus home.
It’s awesome to see that we’re using the interest from seized Russian assets to support the rebuilding of Ukraine! We’re WAY past the time when countries can think of themselves in an isolationist frame of mind. We absolutely must think of the future globally. We share the same atmosphere, the same oxygen, the same freshwater and hence, the same future. If we don’t divert the money from the desire to dominate, to the desire to cooperatively fight climate change, there will be nothing left to dominate.
When riding bikes on 27½ Road, between Unaweep and B½ Road, we have twice been nearly run down by a city bus. There are no sidewalks or bike lanes, despite 27½ Road being a designated bike route. We move over and ride single file on this narrow road while the bus barrels down the center of the road. Last time it blew its foghorn type horn when we didn’t move quite fast enough for the speeding bus. It’s a terrifying ride, never being sure when the bus will show up (just like Steven King’s Plymouth Fury in “Christine”). Perhaps the bus driver might be instructed to be a little more tolerant of bikes on this bike route.
My out-of-town visiting grandkids were moaning over the lack of a backyard bump-and-jump that all their neighbors had. So, I packed them in the backseat of my vintage station wagon and hit every pothole and recessed manhole cover so common in town. They were so ecstatic they didn’t want to go home anytime soon.
Nothing funnier than the Sentinel decrying someone’s “lack of integrity.” Hanks is a jerk and a fraud, but so is Frisch. But with typical “journalistic fairness” you attack one without dealing with the other. Politics, like it’s step-child, “journalism” is the realm of “garden food for the masses.”
Why is the district attorney never having anyone running against him? What is the reason? Maybe someone should be asking why?
I couldn’t care less about Jeff Hurd’s family values and evangelical beliefs. If he wants my vote, he needs to answer a few questions: 1.
Do you believe the 2020 election was stolen? 2. Do you believe that Jan. 6, 2021 was just another tourist day? 3. Do you support Donald Trump, the convicted felon, rapist and habitual liar? It is time to get off the fence Jeff. Saddle up!
If Restore the Balance wanted to really restore the balance, they wouldn’t invite an antagonist to lecture the public. They never provide any negative conversation regarding the other side and should consider getting a new board of directors.
Why is it that only two of the six Republican candidates who are running for the CD3 race took the time to answer the Restore The Balance questionnaire (the subject of the RTB’s full-page ad in the Sentinel, June 9)? All six are patriotic citizens running for public office.
Is it possible that two-thirds of the CD3 candidates do not consider the RTB to be a fair “nonpartisan” group? Just wondering.
Anyone who is capable of reading and performing rudimentary math calculations will quickly demonstrate that Biden’s most recent executive action regarding the southern border will allow in an excess of 1 million illegal immigrants to enter the United State each year.
Mr. President, the American public is not stupid!
I followed with interest Mind Springs CEO John Sheehan’s deriding of Rocky Mountain Health Plans during West Springs negotiations and now feel that I was correct, his reports were exaggerations, at best. I have known RMHP CEO Patrick Gordon to be an honorable man who does as he says he will, will not undermine or criticize community partners in the press and is above-board with his employees. I feel so sorry for these employees working under, or now fired by, CEO Sheehan and his so called “leadership.”
I have the distinct feeling the presidential debates are going to echo Amos McCoy and George Mc-Michael arguing over their “checkies” game.
God does not hate people. People hate people. He sent his son here and he told us to love each other. If you really believe in him, prove it by following his instructions.
