Main Street in Grand Junction has been recognized by USA Today as one of the 10 best main streets in the United States.
As part of the USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice rankings, nominated by a panel and voted upon by readers, main streets across the nation were examined and ultimately ranked earlier this month. Grand Junction’s Main Street ranked eighth, one spot ahead of Hickory, North Carolina, and right behind Ellicottville, New York.
“Celebrated for its vibrant, no-franchise downtown, Main Street in Grand Junction, Colorado, boasts trendy art galleries, farm-to-fork dining, and fashionable boutiques,” USA Today wrote.
“As a dynamic community hub, Main Street fosters a sense of engagement, with the historic Avalon Theatre hosting various events and a variety of street festivals and markets taking place year-round. Visitors enjoy the park-like atmosphere and the unique open-air art gallery of bronze sculptures.”
Grand Junction was one of two Rockies-adjacent cities to have its main street featured. The other was Ogden, Utah, which placed third on the list.
Howell, Michigan, topped the list. To read the list of USA Today’s top 10 main streets, visit tinyurl.com/2s36unvb.
