The more the merrier
As I mentioned in my Jan. 27 Food News column, this valley abounds with great spirit-free beverage choices. In fact, I had so many to write about that I capped my original column at 10 locations and said I would do a “round two” to feature some more of them. Here are another nine places to find creative nonalcoholic drinks — including one in De Beque and another in Montrose. Cheers!
¦ Base Camp Provisions, 155 N. Mulberry St., Fruita — Their bubbly Faux 75 got several reader shout-outs and so did their nonalcoholic Pineapple Margarita.
¦ Copeka Coffee, 1012 N. Fifth St., Grand Junction — This delightful coffee shop has a variety of spirit-free options to tempt you in addition to their coffee and tea selections.
¦ Fidel’s Cocina and Bar, 111 W. Third St., Palisade — The Lavender Limeade gets a rousing endorsement from their customers. I think it would be great paired with their yummy elote appetizer!
¦ Moody’s Lounge, 546 Main St., Grand Junction — Many people told me Moody’s has some wonderful bartenders who make a variety of delicious alcohol-free cocktails.
¦ No Coast Sushi, 1119 N. 1st St., Grand Junction — Known for its delicious Japanese food, they also feature some nonalcoholic beverages. Their mango juice is a hit and they can also make many of their cocktails without alcohol.
¦ Peche, 335 Main St., Palisade — Their bartender is happy to create a spirit-free beverage of your choice and the piña colada is one of their most requested nonalcoholic beverages.
¦ Phelanies Speakeasy, 900 E. Main St., Montrose — A reader told me we should be sure to check them out and that they make “amazing mocktails!” Their Orange Creamsicle mocktail is popular and they also have nonalcoholic spirits to use in making creations for you. I love their beautiful website and look forward to heading that way in the near future.
¦ SoCo Social House (Formerly, The Glorious Fig), 209½ Colorado Ave., Grand Junction — I learned that “SoCo” stands for “South of Colorado” Avenue. Their website notes that they are in the “original Coors warehouse built in 1906.” They have several nonalcoholic beverages and their most popular are the Manic Mango and The Lime in the Coconut.
¦ The Reckless Roadhouse, 424 Minter Ave., De Beque — This restaurant and bar was recommended to me and they have a variety of mocktails that readers enjoy. Looks like another road trip is in store!
