Peachy keen
Peaches are everywhere in western Colorado right now! Here’s part two of the many food-related Grand Valley businesses showcasing Palisade peaches on their menus. I haven’t tasted them all, but they sure sound delicious! (As a reminder, food trucks tend to move around and specials change. Contact them for last-minute information.)
The Palisade Peach Festival is this weekend with even more peach fabulousness to be discovered. Be sure to check out all the local orchards when you are out there.
So much hard work goes into growing and harvesting this delicious fruit!
7th St. Community Cafe — This delightful new restaurant across from St. Mary’s at 2232 N. Seventh St. is full of wonderful options including an ice cream with Red Haven peaches from Palisade’s Juicy Acres, a salad with Early Morning Orchard’s Red Haven peaches, peach fruit leather using Stoned Fruit Orchard’s GloHaven peaches, and you can even add fresh peaches to a delicious grilled cheese sandwich.
Café Sol — Located at 420 Main St. in downtown Grand Junction, they offer a parfait with Greek yogurt, granola, peaches, toasted almonds, a honey drizzle and chia seeds.
They also make a panini with peaches, sliced ham, brie, jam, red onions, and green chiles. Open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., they even deliver for $2 in the downtown 100-700 streets of Grand Avenue, White Street, Rood Avenue, Main Street and Colorado Avenue.
Hot Tomato Pizzeria
— This hopping pizzeria at 124 N. Mulberry St. in Fruita is making a pizza featuring mozzarella, Canadian bacon, Kokopelli Farms peaches, Gorgonzola and fresh rosemary.
Kannah Creek Brewing Company — Kannah Creek has a peach salad, hamburger, and even some “peach nachos” topped with a whipped jalapeño-infused, goatcheese sauce and peach salsa. In addition, their “Peachy Pie” pizza has garlic oil, mozzarella, peaches, red onions, applewood smoked bacon, walnuts, blue cheese crumbles, fresh basil and a balsamic reduction.
Located at 1960 N. 12th St. in Grand Junction.
No Coast Sushi — This tasty restaurant is featuring a peach sushi roll called the “Peach Pincer” with soft shell crab, sriracha, cream cheese, peaches and more! In addition, they have their fabulous peach dessert gyozas, a peach margarita, peach mojito and a peach beer.
Nomad Bowlz — This fun food truck has a “Peachy Keen” smoothie with peaches, mango, banana, and coconut milk. They also have a “Peach Paradise” bowl that showcases peaches, mangos, bananas, and coconut milk topped with granola, peaches, raspberries, mangos and honey.
Pablo’s Pizza — Pablo’s has weekly pizza specials. Currently, it’s called “Peachzilla” and is loaded with a green chili sauce, peaches, mozzarella, sweet corn, cotija cheese and green onions.
Lots of creativity going on at this downtown Grand Junction pizzeria at 319 Main St.!
Palisade Pizza and PourHouse — Palisade’s new pizzeria at 785 37 3/10 Road has created a pizza called the “Volcanic Peach.” It features hot Italian sausage, ham, candied jalapeños, cheese, and a swirl of a spicy peach puree with chili sauce. You can also add peaches to any pizza while they are in season.
Pali Thai — This award-winning Thai food truck is making a peach curry that sounds delicious. They are often outside of The Ordinary Fellow winery at 202 Peach Ave. in Palisade.
Peachfork Orchards and Vineyard — Peaches abound at this orchard! They have a semi-sweet peach wine that won the Governor’s Cup Bronze in 2022 and 2023 and is made from peaches grown right on their land. Located at 281 33 Road in Palisade.
Pêche — This innovative restaurant at 336 Main St. in Palisade has a variety of peach options including an appetizer with whipped goat cheese, fresh basil, pickled onions, sourdough bread crumbs and a honey glaze. They also have a peach salad and a peach crisp.
PizzAmoré — Their “Pesto Peach” pizza is made with pesto, mozzarella, peaches from McLeans in Palisade, prosciutto, goat cheese, a balsamic glaze and fresh basil. They have two locations — one at 683 Horizon Dr. and the newest in Mesa Mall’s food court.
Something Sweet
— This bakery in the Mesa Mall food court is making peach cobbler and you can also special order peach cupcakes and cakes. Be sure to check out their gluten-free options too.
The Little Pink Truck — Their “Peachy Popper Grilled Cheese” with peaches, melted cheddar cheese, roasted jalapeños, cream cheese, and thick-cut bacon on toasted sourdough is sure to be a crowd-pleaser!
Located at 310 N. Seventh St. in downtown Grand Junction.
The Sweet Shoppe — This food truck in Fruita offers peach sweet tea, peach cheesecake bowls, and two different shaved ice offerings. One is called “Peaches & Cream Super Sno” and has peach-flavored shaved ice, cream, whipped cream and peaches. The other is called” Spicy Peach Super Sno” and includes chamoy and tajin.
TacoParty — Grand Junction’s fun downtown taco restaurant is using peaches with their guacamole, in a peach Szechuan gastrique on some tacos, and also in one of their rotating ice creams.
Located at 126 S. Fifth St.
Talbott’s Cider Co.
— Their menu includes a Summer Sunset Peach hard cider, a peach pale ale and a Palisade peach wheat beer. In addition, they have peach-forward entrees each week including grilled peach and Hatch chile chicken tacos. They are located at 3802 F¼ Road in Palisade.
The Milky Way — Located at 330 Main St. in Palisade, they are using peaches from their own farm in the ice cream, pastries, matcha, milkshakes and flatbread pizzas.
Trailblazer Pizza
— This pizzeria at 456 Kokopelli Blvd. in Fruita is featuring a pizza called “Peach Perfect.” It is topped with garlic olive oil, mozzarella, bacon, goat cheese, jalapeños, basil, hot honey and peaches from Mosher Talley Orchard.
